This book is about Rebecca. Her parents are having problems and so her mom takes the kids and goes to Atlanta to Rebecca’s Gran’s house. Rebecca finds a bread box and that’s where the adventure begins.
We liked the description of the setting. We like that she started out broken down and feeling hurt, but then she finds out that everyone has problems. And she learned that sometimes when we wish for stuff what we get isn’t always what we expected.
Overall, we loved this book — the only thing we didn’t like is that it ended!
Our favorite elements were the characters, plot and resolution. We’d like to nominate it for next year’s MSBA list and would recommend it to 4th-6th graders.
